General DNS Guide

In order to modify the DNS records on a general domain or DNS provider, you can follow these steps.

Step 1: Access your domain registrar or DNS provider

  • Open a web browser and log in to your account with the domain registrar or DNS provider where your domain "example.com" is registered.

  • Locate the DNS management or DNS settings section for the domain.

Step 2: Find the DNS management interface

  • Once you are in the DNS management section, look for an interface that allows you to manage DNS records for your domain.

Step 3: Locate the existing A records

  • Find the existing A records associated with the domain "www.example.com".

  • Take note of any other existing records you want to keep or modify.

Step 4: Add or modify the A records

  • Add or modify two new A records with the following details:

    • Record 1:

      • Type: A

      • Value: 75.2.81.85

      • TTL: Set a value between 60 and 120 seconds

    • Record 2:

      • Type: A

      • Value: 99.83.215.215

      • TTL: Set a value between 60 and 120 seconds

  • If there are existing A records for "www.example.com" that you want to modify, update their values accordingly.

Step 5: Add the new CNAME record

☝️If you've arrived at this point after following the "Generate SSL certificates" section, please be aware that we also have dedicated guides for OVH and Cloudflare.

  • Add a new CNAME record with the following details:

    • Type: CNAME

    • Name: www

    • Value: wwwexamplecom.isf-edge.com

Step 6: Save the changes

  • After adding or modifying the DNS records, save the changes in the DNS management interface.

Step 7: Verify the DNS changes

  • Wait for the changes to propagate through the DNS system. This process may take some time, typically a few minutes to a few hours, depending on the TTL set for the records.

  • Use a DNS lookup tool or the nslookup command to verify that the new DNS records are resolving correctly to the desired IP addresses and CNAME.

By following these steps, you should be able to modify the DNS records of the "www.example.com" domain with two A records and a new CNAME record for iSmartFrame. Please note that the exact steps and interface may vary depending on your domain registrar or DNS provider's interface.
